Home Interior Security Lighting
If your house is dark all night when you are away, it is apparent that no one is in the home but you don’t want to leave a light on during the day. Timers are a good way to deal with this problem.
You can turn the lights on and see from outside what effect they give inside the home. For example, if there is a set of blazing track lights near an un-curtained window, it can give an impression of the house is empty.
Make sure you have the light programmed to turn on in the main living area at night. The outdoor light might be programmed to turn on at dusk.
Make sure you set the timer when you go on vacation. The timers must be set so that they give the impression the house is not empty. Turn the lights on and off at different times of the day. A randomized setting for the timer is best. So anyone watching your home will get the impression that the house is full and your family is home.
The timers play a very important role in securing your home. Here are some of the types of timers that you may use.
Standard Plug In Timer:
This is the lowest priced of timers. With it you can set 2 on and off sets per day. These timers are easy to program.
Heavy Duty Timer:
If you need more options such as controlling appliances like the TV or radio then the way to go is the heavy duty timers. Make sure you have battery backup in case the electricity goes out the settings will be saved.
Wall Switch Timer:
Use this for the exterior lighting needs. For more convenience select a model with battery backup and manual override features.
